Whew! We had a busy day. Started with a lecture for about 90 minutes (after breakfast) then a walk around Brooklyn. We took several subways (learned about the "letter" trains versus the "number" trains and the old versus new cars).
We stopped for lunch at a Dominican place. The food was fine, but not really, flavorful.
Took a subway to Brooklyn Heights and the Promenade. Back to the hotel for 15 minutes then off to a French place for dinner (Un, Duex, Trois). Back to the hotel and an optional tour of Times Square. Mom and I went and it was quite interesting.
We were back by 8 PM--stopped in the very interesting looking store (at least it looked interesting from across the street) called Jack's World, but it ended up being mostly a hardware/convenience store.

| Wall of water that you can walk through, near Times Square. We learned that "Broadway" plays are not determined by street address as much as by the seating capacity. 500 and above is a Broadway play. 499 to 100 is off Broadway and less than 100 is off-off Broadway. |
